The Cocoa Press is a 3D Chocolate Printer– it literally prints three dimensional objects... using chocolate. 🍫
In April 2023, I attended the Rocky Mountain Rep Rap Festival in Colorado and met Ellie Weinstein, inventor of the Cocoa Press. After seeing the printer in person, I placed a pre-order for a kit to build one myself!
I 3D printed all of the plastic parts in PETG on my BambuLab X1C and bought the DIY electronics/parts kit from Cocoa Press. Below is my experience building the Cocoa Press Chocolate 3D Printer over the course of a week.
SN0060 has just been delivered!
Can't wait to get building it this weekend! 🎉🍫🖨️
…and I couldn't wait for the weekend. Let's get started!
Everything is very nicely organized, I had no issue building the frame (it's oh-so-square!), the z-axis motor, and interior paneling.
Seems like a good place to stop for the night, I'll add the bed and more tomorrow! 😊
Day two: I had an hour so I added the bed and started on the A/B drives!
Day three: chipping away at it and hour at a time 😊
There's some really neat hinge mechanisms on the A/B drive covers!
Day four: more!
We're getting real close… hoping to have it printing tomorrow!
Day five: done!
I got it to a stage I could turn it all on and start printing!
Still need to secure the display and do the remaining external paneling, but it is officially printing and I am blown away at the quality and fact it all worked first try! 🌹🍫🖨️🤖
It's officially built! SN0060!
I've been printing one core worth of chocolate each night and learning a ton… this machine is absolutely wild.
Tonight I am experimenting with white chocolate and printing a rose! 🌹
